The city of Harrison, the county seat of Clare County, offers year-round recreational activities right outside your door. Central to this is Budd Lake, a 175-acre all-sports lake stocked with some of the biggest muskie you’ll find anywhere. Wilson State Park, on the shores of Budd Lake, is a favorite camping spot drawing visitors from all over Michigan.

In addition to excellent outdoor recreation opportunities, Harrison offers great antiquing and flea market finds, along with distinctive shops throughout the town. You won’t want to miss the Harrison Farmers Market on Saturday mornings throughout the summer for fresh produce and handmade goods.

Harrison’s Festive Celebrations

Harrison hosts many spectacular celebrations, including the Clare County Fair, which has been a summer tradition since 1883, featuring harness racing, an exciting midway, and country-style entertainment. Also taking place in the summer are the popular Old 27 Motor Tour Stop, Street Faire, and Car & Bike Show.

In winter, participate in the Frostbite Winter Festival on frozen Budd Lake, or take advantage of outstanding downhill skiing and tubing.
