Clare County's Amish Community
Clare County is home to a large Amish community with roots tracing back to the original founders from Switzerland. The Amish way of life emphasizes simple enjoyment of the land and community, with skills passed down through generations. Amish craftsmen are renowned for their finely crafted products, including furniture, quilts, and baskets. When weather permits, you can find baked goods and produce for sale along the roadsides.
While we happily promote these wonderful events and our Amish business community, please remember to respect our Amish neighbors. Auction sales are held on Fridays and Saturdays only, with no sales on Sundays. Many businesses are also closed on Thursdays. Please help our neighbors enjoy the quiet lifestyle they prefer most days of the year.
Amish Quilt Auction & Flea Market

The Yoders and their friends hold a large quilt auction and craft show each spring and late summer (Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend). Imagine farm fields transformed with rows of hundreds of vendors offering everything from antiques and flea market finds to handmade goods. This event is one of the largest, well-attended craft shows, flea markets, and quilt auctions in Michigan. In addition to Amish-crafted furniture, quilts, and goods, you can purchase an array of arts and crafts items, discounted tools, jewelry, cutlery, jams, and plants. A number of concessions stands and several specialty food tents featuring baked goods and cheese are hosted by Amish women.
Flea Market hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm each day, and auctions start at 9:00am. Please contact the Yoders directly at 989-386-2872 with any questions or if you would like to reserve space as a vendor at this event.

Yoders Horse and Equipment Consignment Auction
The Yoders also host a Horse and Equipment Consignment Auction two weeks before the Quilt Auction and Craft Show each spring and two weeks after each fall. Prices obtained for these items are fair due to the large number of buyers present. Sales commissions are similar to those charged by private auctioneer services.
